This outstanding German violin in the price range is a German handmade instrument from the 1950s, built by violin maker Anton Dietl in Mittenwald after he settled there in 1946 along with some other displaced luthiers from the Bohemian town of Schönbach. The top is made of medium grained spruce, the one piece back of flamed sycamore maple. The varnish is of an orange-brown color over a light ground - with some antiqueing. This Anton Dietl violin is offered in excellent condition with a solid top repair. The instrument has been extensively refurbished by us and is offered ready to play - like all instruments and bows in our catalog. The bright, warm sound is clear, somewhat mellow and open with long resonance. Special recommendation!
