Traian Sima has shown to be a promising discovery in the world of violin making today, where there is no lack of talented luthiers. Even when this master violin was first sighted at our workshop, we noticed its strikingly lovely aesthetic and artisanal mastery – an instrument which can certainly hold its own when compared to other master violins made "at the bench." Traian Sima selected magnificent tone woods of the finest quality for this violin, which he patterned after a well-designed model oriented towards Antonio Stradivari. The radiantly beautiful varnish serves as an attractive highlight for both the tight flames of the two-piece maple back as well as the even and eye-catching grain of the spruce top and the purfling, which was applied with painstaking care and a great appreciation of detail. Even though the violin's pleasing appearance stirred up major expectations, our violinist was nevertheless surprised by its comfortable playing properties and excellent sound, which he enjoyed immensely while preparing for and recording the audio sample.
