This outstandingly well-executed violin was crafted around 1920 in the studio of Franz Pfaff, the well-known instrument maker in the German city of Kaiserslautern. Its beautiful edges, carefully applied purfling and the expressively shaped scroll are all signs of a quality instrument whose history is confirmed by the company's original label. The luminous golden-brown varnish flatters the grain of the well-selected light-coloured wood, especially on the broad flames of the two-part back of sycamore maple. The eye-catchingly shaped button creates a distinctive accent in the elegant aesthetic of this violin, which we offer in premium and undamaged condition. It has been carefully set up by our experienced luthiers and is ready to play. We recommend this violin because of its large, colourful sound full of character that is mature, precise and radiant.
