Strong, active viola bow - Germany, 1970's, W. Seifert

This excellent, strong and active W. Seifert viola bow was made in Germany around 1970. The octagonal stick features a rare combination of stiffness, strength, tension and elasticity, it is made of red-brown pernambuco wood of premium quality. The distinctive head and the blank ebony frog which are finely carved. The weight of this excellent player is 68.7 g allowing strong, active virtuoso play, its length is 75.2 cm. This fine viola bow is a very active player and has its balance point nearly centered, measured at 28.2 cm. The viola bow is in very good undamaged condition and is offered ready to play. It produces a strong, clear, large sound and is highly recommended.
