3/4 - old French violin, J.T.L. Medio-Fino

This old French 3/4-sized student violin was built approx. 1950 in the renowned J.T.L. workshops in the French violin making town of Mirecourt. It is a good example of the successful Médio-Fino series and bears the corresponding original label inside the body. Under this brand name J.T.L. offered stringed instruments at reasonable rates that feature straightforward standards of craftsmanship but excellent playing properties for educational purposes. The 3/4 violin offered here features medium high archings and was built after a proven model of the classical Italian master Antonio Stradivari. Table and back are each executed in two pieces and demonstrate the careful work of the J.T.L. violin makers, who concentrated on any detail that is important for the sound of the violin, while the purfling as an ornament is scratched. Our expert luthiers worked over this undamaged violin completely, that bears almost no trace of use on its light-brown colored varnish. It is offered ready to play, with a bright and warm sound that will be a pleasure to play for young violinists.
