3/4 - Antique French 3/4 violin, probably Mangenot

This 3/4-sized violin is a very elegant instrument with an unmistakably French style; it was built around 1910 in Mirecourt, most probably in the atelier of Paul Alexandre Mangenot (1862-1942). The 3/4 violin has an aesthetic quality that is rarely found at children's instruments: it features an attractive scroll, a beautiful grain in its tone woods and a light, honey-brown varnish. Its nuanced sound is also very pleasing — delicate, sophisticated and warm with a slightly soft undertone and excellent balance across all of the strings. It is extremely responsive and will motivate to play! This fine French 3/4 violin has a deep scratch on top and some traces of use, and we offer this rare piece in perfect condition, completely worked over by our luthiers and ready to play.
