3/4 - antique 3/4 sized Mittenwald violin, Eugen Gärtner stock

This small sized violin with a large sound is a typical Mittenwald violin and ranks among the rare children's violins made at the highly esteemed traditional location of violin making. With a bodylength of 32.6 cm, it can be considered as a somewhat petite 3/4 sized violin. It has a printed label and brandstamp which confirm its provenance from the stock of Eugen Gärtner atelier in Stuttgart. An unknown Mittenwald maker spent great honour with this beautiful piece of craftsmanship. The well carved scroll and intense red of the varnish are aesthetically appealing; the violin's warm yet bright and clear sound is exceptional, and beyond that it is unusually powerful for a half-sized violin. We can warmly recommend this good half sized violin, a beautiful Mittenwald instrument that has been completely worked over and is offered undamaged, with merely some varnish flaws that are typical for a children's violin of this age, in very good condition.
