Atelier Charles Louis Bazin - French viola bow

This excellent French viola bow made in the atelier of Charles Louis Bazin (1881-1953) is a late piece made around 1945, and it pays full honour to its heritage from the famous Mirecourt family ateliers. This Louis Bazin viola bow is a beautiful, fluid player, it fits well in the hand, is very responsive and is excellent for fluid play with its bright, clear and radiant, French sound. The round stick was made of reddish-brown pernambuco and features good strength and elasticity. The head was patterned after the Louis Bazin model; the ebony frog with nickel silver fittings is decorated by a Pearl eye and a mother-of-pearl slide. At a length of 74.2 cm, this Louis Bazin violin bow has its balance point centered, slightly inclined towards the frog (at 26.2 cm including the length of the adjuster). It is preserved in good condition with an older, solid repair at the end of the stick that allows us to offer this good viola bow at a reduced price - with a certificate by J.-F. Raffin which is included in the price, worked over and ready to play.
