This antique Mittenwald violin was crafted in the 1900ies and features all advantages of tonewoods from the Karwendel mountains: Good quality spruce was chosen for the top, and the maple of the two-piece back with beautiful grain is mildly flamed. This antique Mittenwald violin shows typical Neuner & Hornsteiner features, it was built after a wide model with flat archings, that is designed after patterns of the great Stradivari. The beautiful, large scroll and the purfling are tasteful works of good craftsmanship, just as the shining, red-orange varnish over a yellow ground. This good Mittenwald violin is perfectly preserved and was thoroughly worked over in our workshop, ready to unfold its bright, clear and strong, powerful voice, that is rich in overtones and mature.
