German master violin, late 19th century, a fine Michele Deconet copy

The experienced hand of a Markneukirchen master can be seen in this excellent German master violin, which was crafted as a fine Michele Deconet bench copy in the late 19th century. Its label refers to the Michele Deconet name, a highly regarded Venetian luthier. The mild arches of the body feature handsome, soft fluting on the top and back, and the interior also reflects the outstanding craftsmanship of the instrument. Light, luminous and highly transparent golden brown varnish complements the deep flames of the two-piece maple back and ribs. Delicately executed purfling sets the premium tone woods in an excellent light. Some old restoration to the lower rib and a saddle repair on top, both secured, are not unusual for an instrument of such an advanced age, and they have no impact whatsoever on the violin's sound or stability. It has an excellent sound and is ready to play after having been thoroughly worked over by the specialists at our atelier. This fine, 19th century Saxon master violin will win you over with its beauty and its colorful, warm, nuanced voice.
