French violin by Ch.J.B. Collin-Mézin, 1950

This French violin No. 41 by the Collin-Mézin ateliers was made in 1950 in Mirecourt. The violin has obviously never been played - it is preserved in like-new condition and it still has the original bridge stamped "Collin-Mezin" - a rare coincidence that makes this Collin-Mezin violin a worthy candidate for collector's. It bears the original Collin-Mezin label and is further signed No 41. The model is highly arched and made on the typical Collin-Mezin" Victorieux" model. The top is made of medium grained spruce, the two piece back of medium flamed maple. The rich and glossy varnish is in excellent condition. This interesting Collin-Mezin violin is undamaged and in fine condition. The sound is bright and sweet, of good power and strength. This Collin-Mezin violin in rare condition projects very easily and has a fine and well balanced tone.
