Fine 19th century violin, probably Vienna

Made around 1820, this interesting antique 19th century violin is a high quality instrument that most likely originates from the region around Vienna. The antique appearance of this outstanding antique violin is determined by the luminous and rich oil-based varnish that has darkened over time and the striking beauty of the tonewoods. The expressive scroll is beautifully crafted. With only a professional table reepair to the left sound hole, this interesting 19th century violin is in remarkable condition, worked over in our workshop and ready to play. The warm sound of this violin is somewhat bright and somewhat mellow and rich in overtones in the higher registers.
