1970ies Mittenwald violin by Benedikt Lang

A good Mittenwald violin by Benedikt Lang. The instrument was handmade in 1977 in Mittenwald. It bears the original label by Benedikt Lang inside on the back plate. The instrument is original and perfectly preserved. The top is made of fine to medium grained spruce, the two piece back of mildly flamed maple. The varnish is of an intense orange-red color with some minor wear and signs from playing. The violin is undamaged and crackfree, it is in excellent and immediate playing condition. Its highly resonant sound is dark and mature, clear and rich in overtones yet with some mellowness in its character. This violin has an excellent projection. Comes with an appraisal by Anton Sprenger, Mittenwald, for € 2.700.
