This antique 1/2 violin is a true rarity from the Mittenwald workshops of Neuner & Hornsteiner, where it was carefully crafted in 1878. The original Matthias Neuner no 94 label of the renowned company is attached inside, but the flawless quality of the craftsmanship and the impressing tonal qualities give even better evidence of the 1/2 violinā€˜s provenance that was built after a typical model with flat arching. The bordeaux-red varnish with its interesting patina introduces an antique 1/2 violin, and some scratches demonstrate that former owners enjoyed to play it. Crack-free and without any damage, this rare 1/2 violin was thoroughly worked over by our luthiers and is immediately ready to unfold its exceptionally strong voice that is perfectly suitable for contest performances, with a strong, dark and mature character that is absolutely comparable to larger sized instruments from Mittenwald.
