This fine Markneukirchen violin bow is the refined work of a skilled bow maker from Markneukirchen who made this fine piece of art early in the 20th century, around the year 1930. The stiff, round stick is made of light brown pernambuco wood. The head is finely finsihed, the ebony frog is sterling silver mounted with a small silver eye. This good violin bow measures 74.3 cm from head to button, its balance-point is situated at 26.3 cm including the adjuster. The felt balance-point is well centered. This excellent violin bow produces a large, warm tone and complements bright or brilliant sounding violins, and violins with sharp, somewhat thin sounds.
