Fine violin bow by Joseph Arthur Vigneron made in Vigneron Père's late period

Joseph Arthur Vigneron père (1851-1905) is a noteworthy figure amongst the great French bow makers of the late 19th century. Unlike many of his contemporaries, he placed less emphasis on developing an unmistakable and refined aesthetic, opting instead to concentrate on the aspects of his work that influenced performance. None of Joseph Arthur Vigneron bows are known to feature a gold mounting or tortoiseshell; in a similar fashion, this particular bow which came from Vigneron père's later period, is also defined by a rather unembellished appearance. In this context, the genuine silver fittings of the ebony frog and the Parisian eye stand out as very distinctive features. The octagonal stick with its original Joseph Arthur Vigneron stamp is made of premium reddish-brown pernambuco; at a length of 74.1 cm, the bow weighs 59.9 g. Its magnificent qualities are more readily revealed to the hand than the eye, since its weight distribution may rightfully be called ideal, The wide, centrally positioned balanced point lets you play this Vigneron bow powerfully and yet with agility: the large, clear sound is full of volume. This French violin bow is offered ready to play after a meticulous reconditioning by our luthiers, the price includes a certificate of authenticity and an evaluation for € 15,000 by J. F. Raffin Paris.
