Powerful French violin bow with silver fittings, made around the middle of the 20th century, perfectly balanced and easy to play, with a big sound.

Georges Émile Barjonnet (1903–1987) was an interesting bow maker from the Ouchard school who, apart from a brief period of independence that was cut short by World War II, worked for renowned clients. His personal works, such as the violin bow offered here, are therefore rare and showcase an accomplished artist with a high degree of aesthetic and musical sensitivity.

Made around 1965, this Georges Émile Barjonnet violin bow belongs to the mature phase of its maker's work, when the pupil of Émile Ouchard Père was working for the renowned Mirecourt workshops of Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy (J. T. L.). The strong, round stick made of high-quality pernambuco, the high-quality silver fittings, and the tasteful decoration with Parisian eyes and frog pins show that Georges Émile Barjonnet took great care in crafting his personal bows and expressed his consummate craftsmanship and creativity in them. Perfectly balanced with a center of gravity in the lower half near the middle, this solid violin bow plays extremely comfortably and is easy to handle, with a large, warm sound. Perfectly preserved and with a certificate from J. F. Raffin included in the price, we deliver it ready to play, worldwide shipping free of charge and with a 30-day return policy.
