Light French violin bow from the best period of Marie Louis Piernot: extremely handy work with a large, typically French tone, for virtuoso playing.

Marie Louis Piernot (1880–1959) was a French bow maker from the school of Charles Nicolas Bazin who, after several years working with Joseph Arthur Vigneron Père and Léon Bernardel, opened his own workshop in 1923. The violin bow offered here was made in his workshop around 1925. It reflects the perfect craftsmanship of Marie Louis Piernot, who, under the influence of some of the best masters of French string bow making of the time, had matured to the point where he was able to apply his skills with confidence and the highest productivity during this phase of his life.

This Marie Louis Piernot violin bow is an exceptionally light, perfectly balanced piece of work made from high-quality, light brown pernambuco. Equipped with a nickel silver mount, a mother-of-pearl frog and a one-piece tip, it proves extremely easy to play, with a forgiving, flowing characteristic. A light violin bow that requires very little pressure to play, yet produces a surprisingly large and warm, typically French sound. Commissioned by the renowned Parisian firm Paul Beuscher, whose original stamp is affixed to the stick above the frog, this Piernot reflects the musical culture of 1920s Paris and is the right choice for virtuoso literature. A certificate from J. F. Raffin accompanying the violin bow confirms its origin. We deliver this violin bow ready to play, worldwide shipping free of charge and with a 30-day return guarantee.
