This fine French violin bow is a mature piece made by Louis Joseph Morizot (1874 - 1957) in approximately 1940, a time at which his family atelier was at the pinnacle of its power and influence. From 1920 onward, Louis Joseph Morizot père brought up his five sons to become outstanding bow makers in the spirit of his own teachers, Charles Nicolas Bazin and Eugène Sartory. Under the name "Louis Morizot et ses Fils," the family enjoyed a sterling reputation amongst luthiers and musicians well beyond their home town of Mirecourt. With its ideally proportioned stick of the finest pernambuco, this fine Louis Morizot violin bow is an impressive example of what an excellent role model Morizot père was to his sons. Featuring a round-profile stick, the violin bow has perfect weight distribution with a balance point that is sensed in the upper half of the stick. The violin bow's weight is well adjusted and allows the dynamic, powerful and elastic nature of the stick to come into full fruition with nuance. The silver mounted ebony frog with a Parisian eye and three-piece button and the delicately crafted head define the aesthetic of this fine Louis Joseph Morizot père violin bow, which the specialists at our atelier set up and made ready to play. The radiant typically French sound full of powerful warmth and clarity speaks for itself. Like all instruments and violin bows from us, this offer includes Corilon's trade-in option.
