This antique violin after Nicolo Amati, a late 19th-century / c1900 piece by Hermann Schlosser in Erlbach near Markneukirchen, blends its unmistakably Saxonian heritage with charming highlights of the Italian style. In particular, the outline of the body, the arching and the mild flaming of the one piece maple back cut from the slab closely resembles its Italian templates. With its small, graceful scroll and refined luminous golden brown varnish, this instrument is a elegant personality with a broad range of sound nuances. Warm in its lower registers, its clear, balanced sound gains clarity, brightness and sweetness in the upper registers. After having been worked over by our violin maker, we offer it to you in perfect playing condition, ready to play. Due to some minor repairs we are able to offer this instrument at a competitive price, without any substantial damages.
