This antique Scottish violin was made by violin maker J. Millar in Edinburgh in 1890 and is a very successfully crafted, nice instrument that features a fine antique appearance. The heavily worn, golden brown colored oil varnish underlines the mild flaming of the two-piece maple back tastefully; it was richly applied and developed interesting craquele, wear and patina that determines the character of this violin.
