This interesting antique French violin by Jacquet-Pillement was made in early 19th century in Mirecourt. It is a French violin of the best Mirecoiurt period, preserved in good restored condition. This old stringed instrument has a noble and mature appearance, due to the patinated, orange-brown varnish whivh ahs darkened over the time and the broad personal model decorated with finely inlaid double purfling. The one-piece top is made of regular spruce, the one-piece maple back is made of deeply flamed maple. The sound of this excellent Jacquet-Pillement violin is large, rich in volume, warm and rich in the trebles.
