Violin from the internationally esteemed studio of C. A. Götz in Wernitzgrün. This lovely old violin is a very well preserved German instrument with its original label. It was made in 1939, when the atelier founded by Conrad August Götz in 1884 was at the pinnacle of its success. The C. A. Götz workshop exported Vogtland musical instruments to sites around the globe and maintained contacts to famous musicians of the day. In a similar fashion, this C. A. Götz violin is an attractive calling card that reflects the quality of the instrument-making trade in Saxony. The fine, even grain of the spruce table and impressive flaming of the maple back show the excellent quality of the tone woods selected. The antiqued and patinated, orange-brown varnish on a golden-yellow background and the elegant purfling were applied with great aesthetic sensibility; the maker's talent is also evident in the violin's bright, clear sound full of overtones and an open and pleasant warmth. We are offering this C. A. Götz violin in very good condition; our luthier has set it up, and it is ready to be played.
