This excellent 1/2 Italian violin by Carlo Di Citta is a rare instrument in terms of its size and good quality, meticulously crafted by hand in keeping with the principles of modern it alien violin making. Even at first glance it is clearly a work from the Cremonese school and bears the dated original label by Carlo di Citta – an interesting contemporary violin maker who producted excellent work even in this complicated format. The luminous golden-yellow oil varnish is lovely, ornamented by charming structure as well as a few traces of use. The small and elegantly carved scroll is an aesthetic treat for young musicians who will enjoy this fabulous Italian 1/2 violin not only because of its attractive appearance but because of the good sound that will motivate them: Warm, large, voluminous and radiant - ready to compete with a fullsize violin and of a tonal quality that is absolutrely rare at this 1/2 size.
