This aesthetic and clear-sounding old French violin was made in H. Emile Blondelet's workshop, one of Mirecourt’s leading luthiers in 1930. It bears Emile Blondelet workshop's original numbered label and stamp on the low rib. As the eights of this makers' instruments in our catalogue – in addition to an H Emile Blondelet violin from 1927 with original bridge and an H. Emile Blondelet Cello dating back to 1924 – this 1921 violin is one of the late workshop works as Emile Blondelet died ahead of his time in 1928. His death meant that the rich traditions of the instrument-making town Mirecourt, origin of many fine French violins, lost an influential and striking personality. As the director of the internationally esteemed ateliers of J. Thibouville-Lamy J.T.L., Emile Blondelet made major contributions to expanding and developing the good name which French stringed instruments still enjoy to this day around the world. The fact that classical artisanry was the foundation of this success can be seen in this Emile Blondelet workshop violin’s good musical properties and its radiantly lovely aesthetic: luminous, transparent orange-brown varnish emphasises the grain of the spruce top and the mild flames of the two-piece back of premium maple. Emile Blondelet workshop’s characteristic touch can be seen not only in the model and accentuated margins which stand in attractive contrast to the small and delicate scroll. This good French Emile Blondelet violin was kept in very good condition, with no cracks or damage. The violin has been worked over and made ready to play and features lovely new rosewood fittings. Includes free worldwide shipping, 30 days returns, and Corilon's trade-guarantee.
